The McKees

 
 
 

A graduate of Pernell High School, in Pernell, Oklahoma, John McKee is a dedicated man who has excelled in sports.  His athletic ability landed him scholarships in both football and track at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.  John was blessed with the opportunity to be a member of the East Central Tiger Football Team in 1993 when they won the NAIA National Championship.  While at ECU, McKee was a four year letterman in football and a three letterman in track.  His love for sports and his admiration for his mentor - his high school coach - lead him to become a high school teacher and coach.

Upon being named the Varsity Head Football Coach for the Bartlesville Bruins, John McKee will enter his fourth year as a member of the Bruin football staff.  For the past three seasons he has lead the defensive side of the ball for the Bruins to a 22-11 record.  Coach McKee has been coaching high school football in Oklahoma for the past 14 years in classes 4A through 6A.  He has had the pleasure of coaching schools such as Bridge Creek, Western Heights, Edmond North and Moore High Schools.

Coach McKee and his wife, Traci, have three young daughters, Ryann (6), Peyton (2) and Erica (1).  The McKees reside in and are proud members of the Bartlesville community.

The Christiansens

Bruin Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, Brian Christiansen, is a graduate of Munster High School in Munster Indiana. Brian was an All-State 2nd Baseman, yet chose to play football at Brigham Young University. He played Quarterback and Safety there from 2000-2002.

Christiansen has served as Bartlesville Freshman Quarterback Coach in 2008, and as Freshman Offensive Coordinator in 2009 and 2010.

Brian and his wife Amy live in Bartlesville and have 3 children: Ellie (5), Sam (3), and Owen (1).

 

 

 


 

The Buntings

 

 

 

Bruin Defensive Coordinator and Linebacker Coach Nick Bunting played Linebacker and Runningback earning 2 letters at Holland Hall High School and 1 letter at Tulsa Memorial High School. Nick was a Linebacker for Tulsa University from 2003 to 2006 where he was 2 time 1st Team All-Conference, WAC Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American in 2003, and C-USA Defensive Player of the Year in 2006.

Bunting coached as a Student Assistant at Tulsa University in 2007 and later as a Graduate Assistant working with Linebackers in 2008. Nick has served as Bruin Linebackers Coach and Special Teams Coordinator since 2009.

Nick and his wife Julie have one son, Solomon age 1.

The Hancocks

 

 

 

Bruin Defensive Line and Special Teams Coordinator Matt Hancock started playing football in Wagoner Oklahoma in 1995 and graduated from Wagoner High School in 1999.

He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and then coached Runningbacks and Quarterbacks at Purcell High School from 2003 to 2004. Matt coached Offensive and Defensive Line at Muldrow High School from 2005 to 2007. 

In addition to coaching football, Matt is the Head Freshman Track coach.  He is married to Coach Amanda Hancock, who is an assistant track coach.

Matt and Amanda have two children: Emilee (4) and Cash (7 mos) and reside in Bartlesville.

 

 

 


 

 

Steve Craver

 

 

 

 

 

Bruin Defensive Backs Coach Steve Craver played football at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst Texas where he was a 3 year letterwinner. He was a Safety, Quarterback, Receiver, Runningback and Corner for the Blue Raiders.

Steve started for two years at Kilgore Junior College as a Linebacker and Safety helping lead the team to the Conference Championship in 2004. He later attended the University of Tulsa from 2005 through 2007, playing as a Defensive Back helping the team become C-USA Champs in 2005.

Coach Craver comes to us from Central High School in Tulsa where he was the Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach for their 2009 and 2010 seasons. This season, Coach Craver will serve as the Bruin Defensive Backs Coach.

 

 


 

 

 

The Williamses

 

 

 

Bruin Receiver's Coach Sidney Williams played football for the Eagles of Cypress Falls High School in Houston Texas. Sidney was a Defensive Back for Navarro Junior College and the University of Houston. He has continued his education at Oklahoma Wesleyan University here in Bartlesville.

Coach Williams was with Austin Hyde Park High School from 2004-2006 and joined the Bruin Coaching Staff in 2007. He has worked with Defensive Secondary and Receivers.

Sidney and his wife Heather have three children Baylor (6), Sutton (3), and Kinsley (6 months), and live in Bartlesville.

 

 


 

Daniel Dolan

First year Coach Daniel Dolan played football, baseball and wrestled for Berryhill High School in Berryhill Oklahoma. As a runningback and strong safety he led the Chiefs to their first and only State Championship in 2004. He made the Tulsa World All-State team as well as the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team in 2004.

Daniel played baseball in college for 3 years, two at Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa and one for the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant Oklahoma.

Coach Dolan is the Bruin Varsity Runningbacks Coach.

 


 

 

The Holmeses

 

 

Bruin Freshman Head Coach Bobby Holmes played High School football for the Perkins-Tryon Demons in Perkins Oklahoma. In college, Bobby played for the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers in '02 & '03 and later for the Bronchos of the University of Central Oklahoma in '04 and '05. He later graduated from Oklahoma State University.

Coach Holmes began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach back at Perkins-Tryon High School from '05 to '06. In 2007 he came to Bartlesville to be the Defensive Secondary Coach, and later in 2009, moved to offense to become Receivers Coach. This year Coach Holmes brings 4 years of Varsity experience to our Freshmen class ensuring the continuity of the Bruin Football Program for the future.

Bobby and his wife Tiffany live in Bartlesville and have one son Landry (1).

Max McGuirk

 

 

 

Bruin Freshman Assistant Football Coach Max McGuirk played High School Football in Wagoner Oklahoma. A three year letterwinner, Max played outside Linebacker and Cornerback for the Bulldogs.

Even though Max primarily came from a wrestling family, he went on to play Football and graduate from Northeastern State University in Talequah Oklahoma.

After graduation, Coach McGuirk was working with wrestlers when he was recruited to Bartlesville to become a full time Freshman Football Coach.

 

 

 


 

 

 

The Grays

 

 

 

Bruin 8th Grade Head Football Coach Jerry Gray played his High School Football at Caney Valley High School in Ramona Oklahoma. He attended Evangel College in Springfield Missouri where he played Guard and Nose Guard for the Crusaders from 1979-1981.

For over 25 years Jerry has been coaching football, baseball, basketball and softball. He has been the Bruin 8th Grade Head Football Coach since 2008.

Jerry and his wife Marya live in Bartlesville and have two children: Jared (23) and Hannah (14).

 


 

 

The Rutherfords

 

 

 

Bruin 8th Grade Defensive Coordinator Harley Rutherford played Cornerback, Free Safety, and Kicker for his Ponca City High School Football Team.

Harley attended Rogers State University and has been the Bartlesville YMCA Youth Football Director since 2005. He has been an INFC Head Coach for 5 years in addition to serving as Bruin 8th Grade Assistant Coach since 2008.

Harley and his wife Sue Ann live in Bartlesville and have one son Cody (16) who is a Junior Football player at Bartlesville High School.

 

 

 


 

The Orrs

 

 

 

Bruin 8th Grade Offensive Coordinator Mike Orr grew up in Barnsdall Oklahoma and lettered for the Panthers in football, wrestling and baseball at Barnsdall High School . Mike was an Offensive and Defensive Lineman.

Mike attended Rogers State University and the University of Oklahoma where he was a Champion Power-Lifter. Coach Orr has mentored kids in the weight room and coached youth football in Denver and INFC youth football for the past 10 years. Mike has served as a Bruin 8th Grade Assistant Coach since 2009.

Mike and his wife Marsha live in Bartlesville and have two children: Macie (18) at OSU and Mason (16) a Junior Football player at BHS.
